Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification. Registration with a professional council: Candidates must be registered as a Security Officer Grade B or higher with the Security Board in terms of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority Act (PSIRA). Experience: Appropriate Security experience within a Healthcare institution. Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts and be available on a 24-hour basis. Willing to rotate when required. Must be willing to be deployed in different sections of security department. A valid driver’s license. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Be responsible, diligent and ability to work under pressure. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge of security related 284 Page 285 prescripts, regulations, procedures and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and independently.

Contract Management of private security and conduct crowd control. Monitor the patrol of buildings, parking areas and perimeter fencing and control keys and all security documents. Investigate crimes and incidents, writing reports and statements. Supervise in-house and outsource security officers and practice disciplinary processes to the subordinates. Monitor the CCTV control room’s effectiveness and monitor the effectiveness of access and egress control.
