Requirements
Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus Diploma / Degree in General Nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse (2026). A minimum of ten (10) years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience at management level of Child Health Care. Post basic qualifications in Child Nursing Science. Diploma/Degree in Nursing Education and Administration will be an advantage. Demonstrate basic computer literacy as a support tool to enhance service delivery. Ability to plan and organise own work. Be able to work under pressure. Valid driver’s licence.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Child Health programme in the province and liaise with National Sub-Directorate, Districts and other sectors on issues related to Child Health. Develop strategic plans, policies and protocols on implementation of Child Health programme. Support districts with the implementation of national and provincial policies. Render technical support, advice, and capacity building of personnel. Manage the rendering of Adolescent, Youth and Integrated School Health Programme in the province. Support the implementation of norms and standard for Child health programme. Manage the programme’s finances and budget, Conduct research on Child Health related issues. Monitor and evaluate the impact of the programme.
